Calling All Aspiring Actors and Actresses: Mary Poppins, Jr. is Coming to YWCA New Britain

YWCA New Britain’s new Youth Theatre program is offering children a chance to participate in the premiere production of Mary Poppins, Jr.

YWCA’s Director of Performing Arts, Chris Kuzia, or Miss Chris as she is known to her students, will be choreographing the show.  “We have wanted to start a musical theater group here for some time now.  When the rights to Mary Poppins, Jr. became available we knew this would be the perfect show for our first performance.  We are so excited to finally add musical theater to our performing arts program,” said Miss Chris.

The play will be directed by Katie Desjardins of The Goodspeed Opera House. Katie is a former student from the YWCA School of Dance and is currently the Drama Coach and Director for musicals at McGee Middle School in Berlin. Miss Chris has been choreographing for her performances for several years now.

“When the opportunity to collaborate with Katie came about, everything fell into place,” said Miss Chris.
