YWCA East Side Community Center’s Community Clean-Up will be held on October 27th, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at 600 East Street.
YWCA New Britain has partnered with Central Connecticut State University and the New Britain Police Department to bring awareness to the new community center, the importance of public safety, and to emphasize the value of resident engagement.
Residents are invited to join us to learn about the resources that are offered at the East Side Community Center and join the conversation about how they can be more involved in their neighborhood.
This event will also feature a Complete Streets Plan demonstration from Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) happening on East and Jubilee Streets. Complete Streets Plan aims to provide better facilities for pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, and people with disabilities. Volunteers will also help with the painting of a temporary cross-walk to improve walkability.
The YWCA East Side Community Center Community Clean-Up is a free event open to all New Britain residents. Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. The day will end with a lunch and neighborhood conversation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
