YWCA New Britain is excited to open its doors on Thursday, October 17th, and invite the community down for the annual Fall Family Festival. This event will take place at 19 Franklin Square in New Britain from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.
The event will feature activities such as pumpkin painting, face tattoos, crafts, and music and sing-alongs provided by staff, volunteers and students from CCSU. Children are invited to come down in their Halloween costumes, take a picture in the photo booth, and trick-or-treat from the local vendors. The trick-or-treaters can also touch a police vehicle and fire truck at the Touch-a-Truck activity.
Pizza and snacks will be available for purchase and New Britain ROOTS, a local nonprofit that focuses on making healthy food accessible and affordable to low-income members of the community, will be selling fresh foods. Some of the activities require a small fee.
“As a cause-driven organization, YWCA New Britain presents the Fall Family Festival each year to celebrate diversity and bring members of our community together,” said Membership and Wellness Director Heather Labbe. “We believe that offering families an opportunity to spend time together furthers our goal of helping families and strengthening the community. There will be something for everyone to enjoy at this fun-filled event!”
