The YWCA, with funding from The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, is partnering with SEET Consulting to assist New Britain area organizations interested in integrating principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion into their operations and practice.
The social justice movements of 2020 have given rise to a realization that building awareness of systemic inequity in business operations is not enough. According to the US Chamber of Commerce: “inclusive businesses are more innovative, profitable, and safer for employees.”
Yet many business leaders, particularly those in small business, need additional support and information to incorporate the principles of equity and inclusion within their operations.
The YWCA is accepting applications from up to 20 businesses in New Britain. Non-profits and member of The Coalition for New Britain’s Youth will be given priority. Those participating will meet virtually as a monthly with consultants from SEET Consulting to support agency efforts to assess structure and operations and implement strategies to introduce principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The first meeting will be held November 4th from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m., with subsequent meetings being scheduled by the group. Meetings will be monthly through June and resume September/October 2022.
The YWCA will accept applications on a first-come, first-served basis until the cohort reaches full enrollment of 20. For consideration, please fill out the application here and send it to Tracey Madden-Hennesseyby November 1, 2021.
