We're Open!

The YWCA Fitness Center is OPEN! We are taking a series of health and safety precautions to protect our members and staff. Here's what you can expect:

New Hours- The Fitness Center will be open Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Entering and Exiting- You will come in through the front doors and stop at the front desk where you will have your temperature taken and answer a few questions. Then you will follow the signs down the hall into the Fitness Center. Please wear a mask until you get to your equipment. To exit, you will go through the side doors near the Fitness Center hallway. Don't forget to use our hand sanitizer dispenser before entering and exiting!

Social Distancing- The Fitness Center is divided into five areas, each of which has cardio equipment, a bench, weights, and more. We've also marked spots on the gym floor to help you keep your distance while working out. Please try to keep this distance from your fellow members in the gym.

Online Scheduling- Members are required to reserve space in the Fitness Center and group exercise classes using our online scheduling tool. Space is limited to five members per 30-minute slot in the Fitness Center. Reserve your space here.

Belongings- Please bring only your keys, cell phone, and water bottle into the facility - no bags or other clothing. You can fill up your water bottle, but cannot drink directly from the water fountain. For group exercise classes, please bring your own mat.

Locker Rooms- At this time, locker rooms are closed. There are designated bathrooms in the fitness hallway for members.


In-Person Group Ex Schedule

Currently, YWCA is offering one class per day in the small gym. Other classes will remain virtual. The weekly in-person schedule is as follows:

Mondays, 7:00 p.m. - Yoga for All with Heather (8 slots)

Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. - Fit for All with Tabatha (8 slots)

Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. - Spin for All with Heather (4 slots)

Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. - Pound for All with Tabatha (8 slots)


SugarWOD Fitness App

At YWCA New Britain, our goal is to provide the most supportive environment possible for our members and guests. This is even more important in our current environment.

We are committed to your health and fitness goals. While the Fitness Center is now open, we understand some members may not be ready to visit quite yet.

Through SugarWOD, we will be providing live workouts you can do at home along with videos and wellness content to keep you motivated during this time.
