Young at Heart

Staying healthy and feeling your best is important at any age.  YWCA New Britain's Young at Heart group exercise class is geared toward those with a few grey hairs.  Seniors can enjoy using a variety of fitness equipment from exercise bands to weights, to mini rubber balls.  This class focuses on increasing balance, coordination, strength, and range of motion for the whole body.  Find it on the schedule.

Qigong

Qigong is a series of coordinated, slow-flowing, meditative movements practiced worldwide. Let Qigong enrich and balance your life by teaching you to channel energy, develop increased concentration, reduce stress, restore balance, and calm the mind.  Find it on the schedule.

Qigong Yoga Fusion

Qigong Yoga Fusion is a fusion of Gentle Yoga and Qigong combined to offer the benefits of both ancient healing arts practices. Qigong Yoga Fusion is a tranquil, beneficial and powerful mind-body practice that relieves physical, mental and emotional tension effectively.  Find it on the schedule.

Fit For All

Fit For All is a total body toning class for adults who want to look and feel younger, and stay healthy and strong. Exercises stimulate a speedy metabolism with the goal to reduce the risk of diseases like hypertension and diabetes. Meet Dorothy & Betty

Dorothy Davis and Betty Frederick first met at St. Mary’s School in New Britain, and have been best friends since the second grade.  They were bridesmaids in each other’s weddings, and have seen each other’s families grow to include children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren.  Through this time, they have been there for each other through thick and thin, supported each other as they have tackled life’s many challenges, and have experienced so much of what life has to offer.  Read more
