Meet Bradley

Name:  Bradley Alagna

Position: Volunteer Program Assistant, Sexual Assault Crisis Service

Hometown: Southington, CT

Bradley found himself feeling unfulfilled when he was working as a pastry chef and felt stuck in a life where he was unsure if he was worthy of happiness.

In order to break out of a cycle that he felt could be destructive, he moved back home from New York City and set out on the journey to make a difference in the world and contribute to society.  This is what lead him to eventually join the YWCA Sexual Assault Crisis Service volunteer program.

Bradley discovered the listing for “crisis counselor” and knew that it was exactly the work that he had been searching for.  “It will forever be one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I loved every minute of my experience.”

“The same week I became certified through the volunteer program, the Volunteer Program Assistant position was available and I knew I had to go for it. There was absolutely no way I could give up the opportunity to be a part of something that meant so much to me.”

Now that Bradley has found a career that he feels passionate about,  he hopes to pursue some more of his life goals.  One of these goals is to travel and experience more of the world.  He tries to live his life according to his favorite quote, by Cheryl Richardson, “treat people with kindness because behind every face is a story that could use a little more love.”
